Android Fan, but Windows Curious

In terms of design, Windows Phone easily beats Android 2.3. While I like ICS, I still would choose Metro over Holo in a fight.

Welcome to the board. Honestly, you need to get your hands on a Windows Phone device. At first glance it might seem like a step back from Android due to its lack of customization, but the tight integration of social networking, Xbox live, zune, office, skydrive, etc is pretty incredible.

The one thing you'll hear is that there are a huge lack of apps, in all honesty if an app is popular or devs think it will sell it gets ported nearly immediately. Nearly every app has a "Try It" option, meaning you don't see this huge Free vs Pro fragmentation that artificially doubles the app count. Also there are stricter submission rules so you won't see nearly as many sound boards and fart apps.

Welcome! By all means give a windows phone a try some time It's not for everyone, but you won't know until you give it a fair shot.

As I have read somewhere I think it must have been possible to get WP7 phones to dualboot with android - isn't that just the best?

But welcome to the community! I think you'll like the change from android to WP7, but I really recommend you go into a store and play with one, preferably get a demo from an employee who knows the OS. Everyone I know who I have told to do this, has left the store with a Windows Phone.
