I've always believed that HIMYM is the poor man's Scrubs. Just think: Ted is a hopeless romantic, he's got a best friend deeply devoted to his Wife (Marshall to Lily), Lily is sassy and couldn't get pregnant (Carla), Robin and Ted have a will-they or won't-they tension (Elliot and JD), and Barney is a hybrid of the Janitor and The Todd.
