Is your Surface RT running hot?

I've noticed that apps that chew up a lot of racecourses cause quite a bit of heat to the right of the camera - cpu and/or ram??

There are a few bad apps that cause it to heat up along with heavy usage. It's not to hot to touch and does cool down, but something I'd be concerned with long term.

Mines not really causing me any heat problems - what apps are doing it for you? I'll test.

Backgrounds Wallpapers HD (which is crap to begin with) causes the most problems. Playing a movie seems to cause warmth as well or anything that seems resource intensive. Still trying to pin down specific apps or tasks.

I've used backgrounds, will use it a bit more intensively. I've only watched a couple minutes on Netflix, but it didn't seem to get hot.

That said, doesn't any tablet/phone get hot when used heavily? My Nexus can darn near burn me!

Surface pro has a venting system, so that'll help.
Checking out the ifixit photos the heat is definitely coming from the cpu/ram area.

Well the hardware is beefier by a long shot on that version so.. maybe no difference.

My Surface got really warm while running today's Windows/firmware updates.
So much so that it didn't immediately start after it shutdown during the required reboot, it showed some picture of a thermometer, then shut off until I moved into a more ventilated room.

I think some amount of heat should be expected, but I've never noticed any. The most I've done with it in one sitting though was a netflix movie. BTW, pretty cool to watch a movie and check up on stuff on the web at the same time.
