A couple more basic tips for the MS Surface

Alright, so I made another quick video that was way longer than it should have been to show a couple little things on the surface again. A very poorly done video. Just how I like it.

    - Adjusting screen timeout
    - Setting picture password/pin
    - Windows X More hotkeys
    - Type out built in Windows apps/execs
    - Swiping back and forth in IE10 to back/forward
    - Flip ahead
    - Changing number of rows for tiles. Read More
    - Adding flash support to whitelist file. Read More
    - Closing apps from left pane

Here's one that might be handy, shutdown/restart tile:
Add Shutdown, Restart Buttons / Tiles In Windows 8 Metro Start Screen

A couple of other notes. If you're not concerned w/ logging so much, you can disable password requirement after screen timeout.

As for rebooting, tablets in general aren't meant to be rebooted like you would a desktops. While RT takes some time, it's not that much longer than an ipad.

Nice! That's going in the next video. Though, need to use hyphens rather than slashes.

    Thanks!

Why did you reboot to see the new lockscreen? Can't you just turn off the screen like a regular tablet? Also, I know Windows key + L locks the screen too.

I don't know why I didn't think of Windows L. I don't have it set to go to pass immediately on turning off of the screen, but Windows L is obviously a much better option. Thanks!

    Here's something interesting.

When using the camera you can pinch to squeeze the camera into smaller view - similar to start menu - and see the previous picture taken. Unfortunately, you can't actually take a pic or video in this view.
