New Windows Phone: Do I Need To Rebuy All My Apps?

I'm a new windows phone user and like it so far but I'm wondering: if I purchase a NEW Windows Phone can I load all the apps and games I bought onto my new phone or do I have to buy them all again? I know Android and iOS have a way to remember and sync your new device and it would be a HUGE problem if Win didn't let you.

Relieve me of my nervousness and tell me this feature exists for Windows Phone!

pretty sure all the stuff you buy on the marketplace is linked to your live account, just like xbox games and stuff. that way you don't have to worry if you ever switch phones.

Yep, I can confirm that any purchases you make on the app store are tied to your LIVE account. That's the reason achievements for the various LIVE games they have available on the marketplace work with your main Xbox account.

The purchases you make stay, but when you go to redownload the app, you still click buy (but then it will show the price as 0.00). What doesn't transfer are your saved games/high scores. There are other ways to make a full backup of the files/games on your phone and restore that backup to a new phone. The zune software doesn't come with that ability, unfortunately.

If the app developer is sensitive, you can email and many times they will give you a pass or work around. It's quite nice.

Additionally to what has been stated above, you can use an app called "reinstaller" from the marketplace to reinstall most your apps in one swoop if you change devices.

That reinstaller app sounds like a really good way to switch phones. Thanks for that.
