Windows 8 Release Preview detailed impressions -- Engadget

A fairly detailed review with plenty of screenshots. I'm loving the way that the Metro apps came together.

On an unrelated note - I'm a complete programming noob but I've got the sdk and it is incredibly difficult to use because it doesn't cue me at all as I type. The windows phone one for example when I'm writing TextBlock it will complete it at Tex and then when I put a dot will suggest .text straight away, but this doesn't any one know why?

Probably the iPotato 4s, they're reviews are a little slanted towards Apple.

The engadget article was very informative....thanks...
but it did mention that it is the polished version of the consumer preview....which I feel is a good thing...Flipback seems like something that can work well in the future.....needs some work...so far so good

Tried it today, pretty awful, since none of the standards shortcuts work in Metro

I haven't played with it much since I don't have a optical drive on my laptop, but I'm so excited about it I might buy an external one just to install W8.

The Windows 7 USB bootmaker actually works with Windows 8. Just download the consumer preview .iso and this tool from Microsoft. That'll turn an old flash drive you have laying around into a bootable installer. I remember the Win7 iso needed 4gb, but Win8 might be larger. Then just catch your BIOS on boot and change the boot device to USB.

I love the RP. Not too crazy about the hot corners, but I can't wait to try this out on a tablet. But not just any tablet...
