Hey everyone, been sometime since I was here last...
Anyways in recent weeks we have been hearing about the Microsoft creating and testing their own phone..Hw and Sw just to be clear :) So where do you guys think this will go...is it going to a good decision or is Microsoft going to get itself into trouble...
In my opinion I think Microsoft has jumped the gun a little too early...Windows phone has not penetrated as much as we would like and to do so Microsoft definitely needs the support of the OEM makers...Acer has already expressed its displeasure over Microsoft creating its own tablets...In fact it has decided that it would wait to RT's success before creating a device for RT themselves...Although not directly said out..it is believed that it is because of this issue...So I feel that it would be better if Microsoft waited until it has got a good foothold say atleast 10%...then try to do these things..lets hope it does not affect the Wp program.. :) Just my opinion..what say you guys..
The Surface raised a lot of interest in Windows 8 and pushed OEMs to be more creative in their designs for new devices; thus, we have seen a lot of cool transformers coming out with Windows8. I think it will overall show that it helped their market a lot and will, in turn, help developers and the OEMs who were crying about Microsoft stealing their thunder. (Also, conflict is always good for marketing/PR efforts).
If the WindowsPhone8 stuff doesn't hit hard and fast, I think it would be smart to do a similar thing with the phone market. Just as Google has the Nexus line to show what their ideal devices are, having a Surface line for Microsoft products could be a smart move. Sell it themselves, off-contract, and allow it to just be a hardcore user thing... that way they don't disrupt too much, but can still make an impact.

As far as I'm concerned it's not confirmed so it's unlikely to be released. Still, it looks amazing.
