I work in IT for a large multinational and I installed a pre beta release a while back to see what it looked like.
It was very trimmed down and most app buttons did nothing.
The metro theme is very nice and its really helped to modernise windows and step away from the vista look.

All in all its looking promising and a bit easier for non technical people to use...
