As a US citizen and avid TV watcher, I never saw a commercial for a Zune. In fact, the only Zune commercial I remember was from this awful commercial with a smarmy dude.

So many people download illegally and you aren't going to convince people through a monetary argument!

If all you want is a Windows Phone without the cellular plans, why not just get one on eBay or buy one without a plan?

You can still download all the apps you want, use it as a portable media player, and aren't required to have a plan.

The problem there is really finding one that looks as beautiful as a Zune HD. The Lumia line is really the only bet.

But that is a good idea...Depends on your price range, I guess.

If the Lumia gets cheaper unlocked, or I happen to stumble upon a free Windows Phone, I'd like to do that. But my HD is still servicing me and I don't need to spend money where I don't have to. Plus, having data notifications and all that other jazz would be distracting.
