We hope that title has you as excited as we are. Verizon has been popping up on our radar more and more lately, and we’ve been hoping it means a new device is on the horizon. Fran Shammo, Verizon CFO, was the one who had some positive words to say about Microsoft least week, and he’s got some even better quotes today.

Shamoo told Reuters that Big Red is planning to have Windows Phone 8 handsets available in time for the holiday season. Microsoft is planning to show off Windows Phone 8 in the Fall, so we might get a look at these (and other) devices then. Verizon is a very important carrier to be on, just look at what they did for Android.

For most people I know looking at phones now, the holiday season is too long to wait for sure. Their devices are no longer being supported well (if at all) and waiting months to get a real flagship that will last is too much to ask.
