For fans of comics in the digital age, ComiXology has long been the app of choice for Android and iOS users. The service is now available on the Windows 8 release preview and owners can now check out the app made for Windows 8. The app follows the metro guidelines very well, arranging comics in a format that will be familiar with Kindle and other eReader users. This new addition to the Microsoft Store for Windows 8 brings more than 10,000 comic book titles to the operating system.
The only downside of this app is that it is currently read-only. You can view and check out all of your current comics you own through the service, but you’ll have to wait for the full release before you’re able to purchase additional comics. The purchasing feature will be made available when the final version of the app is available after Windows 8 has been released officially.
