The Weather Channel app is a solid weather app for Windows Phone, but updates have been few and far between. The good news is that it has just received a big update to 2.0. The bad news is you can only experience it if you happen to have a Lumia device. Yes, the Nokia exclusive has struck again.

Weather Channel 2.0 has a lot of new features. There is a really cool augmented reality feature that shows photos taken in your area when you pan around. There is another feature called “My Friend’s Weather” which tells you the weather in places that your friends reside. The app also has received a UI overhaul that looks very nice.

What do you think about Nokia getting exclusive updates now? It’s great to see Nokia get companies to take more interest in their Windows Phone apps, but it’s no fun to be left out. The app is available now in the Nokia Collection of the Marketplace.

It’s kind of depressing. It has this “My Amazing Day” feature which currently says, “no amazing days forecasted in the next 4 days.”

Hardly seems worth getting out of bed the rest of this week.
