The “Metro” name replaced again, this time “Microsoft Design Style” gets the call

The Metro saga continues. It’s been a while since we heard Microsoft was removing the word “Metro” as a name for their new design style, but a replacement name has not really been chosen yet. Everything from “Modern UI” to “Windows 8 apps,” but nothing has really stuck. The newest contender is “Microsoft design style.”

*Yawn*

This new term appeared in the index of UI guidelines for Windows Store apps. It has replaced all instances of “Metro” that appeared in the guide, There is still no official word from Microsoft on the name, and we don’t expect there to ever be. Do you like the name?
