We’re less than a week away from Microsoft’s launch of Windows 8 and its first Surface tablet, but according to Digitimes some Microsoft partners aren’t too thrilled with the Redmond giant. Digitimes refused to point fingers at just which partners are upset about Microsoft’s transition into the hardware business, but we’ve known Acer has been upset about the move for some time now. The anonymous tip says partners feel Microsoft “will no longer be concerned about its downstream partners’ thoughts or complaints”.
Whether or not this thought will ring true after the launch of Windows 8 is up in the air, but Microsoft is certainly positioning itself to be competitive in the hardware business.
