One overlooked feature in Windows Phone 8 is the support for NFC. Most of the new devices coming out these days have NFC built in, and the line of WP8 handsets is no different. The Samsung ATIV S is one of the new phones to have NFC, so what can it do? Tap to Send is the feature most people will use NFC for, and in the video above we get a quick demo of hot it works.
On one phone the user opens up a video and then goes to the share menu. In the share menu there is an option for Tap to Send (we assume that’s what it says). When selected the phone tells you to tap the device to another device. When he does that a notification pops up saying it has been sent, and the recipients phone asks if the user would like to accept. The whole process is very quick and easy. Do you see yourself using this feature?
