We’ve known about the Nokia Lumia 822 for some time now, but Verizon has made the phone official today by announcing it as part of their fall line up. As you can see, the design is quite different from the Lumia 820 that it is supposed to be derivative from. According to Olivier Puech, the President of Nokia America, the phone offers a high-quality featureset for those who want it.
“Bringing the Nokia Lumia 822 to Verizon Wireless allows us to expand our award winning Lumia brand to even more customers here in the United States. With the Nokia Lumia 822, first-time smartphone buyers - and those ready to switch - will get high-quality performance on both their device and Verizon Wireless’ incredibly fast 4G LTE network.”
The phone will feature an 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, along with a 1.2MP HD front-facing camera for video calls. The Lumia 822 will also feature the exchangeable shells of its big brother, which allow the device to charge wirelessly. What do you think of Verizon’s new flagship Windows Phone offering from Nokia, or will you be going with the HTC 8 series?
