There’s no doubt that a lot of Finnish pride went into this stunt. Finnish retailer Verkkokauppa.com had the bright idea to send the Lumia 920 into space via a weather balloon with surprising results. The phone spent more than 27 minutes in the freezing cold at a height of more than 30km. When the balloon finally burst and plunged back to the earth, the handset went with it.
Of course this likely wasn’t a massive free fall and it’s a marketing stunt more than anything, but it’s certainly a neat one.
