The Nokia Lumia 900 was easily the most successful Windows Phone 7 device, and it came out not long before Windows Phone 8 was announced. Naturally they left a lot of 900 owners feeling a little upset when they heard they wouldn’t be getting WP8. Microsoft and Nokia are well aware of this fact, so they are making sure the Lumia 900 gets WP7.8 first.
An internal AT&T email seen by WPCentral has revealed that the Lumia 900 will receive the 7.8 update on Wednesday, January 30th. With the 7.8 update users will get the new start screen, new theme colors, Bing lockscreen images, Marketplace enhancements, and some API goodies. Certainly not as much as you would get with Windows Phone 8, but it’s better than nothing. Will it be enough to make 900 users happy? We will have to wait and see.
