Video messages now available on Skype for Windows 8

Skype video messages

Back in February we wrote about Microsoft launching Skype video messages for every platform except for Windows 8 and Windows Phone. We were bewildered to see Microsoft launch something for literally every platform except for their own. Finally today they have brought video messages to at least one Windows platform.

Earlier this week video messages were made available on the desktop version of Skype. Today they have finally brought video messages to the Windows 8 Skype app. To send a video message just click the (+) icon in an individual chat. Video messages don’t work in group chats.

Video messages can be up to 3 minutes long, and you get 20 free messages before you have to subscribe to Skype Premium. The update should be available in the Windows Store now. The Windows 8 Skype app is slowly catching up to the desktop app. Download it below to try for yourself.
