Microsoft’s number one target these days is Google, but one company they will always compete with is Apple. The two companies haven’t butted heads much in recent years, but they have a long and storied history. Historically Microsoft has dominated Apple in the PC market, but that all changed with the “post-PC era” and the iPad. Now that Microsoft has a legitimate tablet OS they are taking the battle to Apple once again.

In a brand new Windows 8 ad Microsoft takes on the iPad and Siri. The ad shows off how many things the iPad can’t do while Siri narrates it. Things like live tiles with real-time info, Snap View multitasking, and Microsoft Office are put on display. The whole ad is done in the familiar Apple-style. At the end Microsoft even points out that you can get the Asus VivoTab Smart for $200 less than an 64GB iPad. The ad is very well done, and shows just how Windows 8 is about doing and an iPad is about playing. What do you think about the ad?
