Xbox One Kinect coming to Windows devices next year

One of the best new features of the Xbox One is the upgraded Kinect. The Kinect for Xbox One has a much improved 1080p camera that can track numerous people, even in the dark. The new Kinect can even track heartbeat and pressure points (don’t ask us how). Microsoft has announced that the new Kinect will be coming to Windows devices after the launch of the Xbox One.

Microsoft says the Kinect for Windows will “revolutionize computing experiences.” The Xbox One heavily relies on voice and gesture input to navigate the around the OS. With the Xbox One software and Windows having so much in common it only makes sense to use the same technology. Kinect might not have much use with something like a tablet or laptop, but it could be very useful for big all-in-one devices or family computers.

That’s pretty cool! I want to use it on my Google TV. Maybe someone will do a hack or something.
