The Gmail situation on Windows Phone is not the greatest. Syncing with the stock Mail app can sometimes be unreliable, and the features are nowhere near what’s available in official Gmail apps. Things like starring, priority inbox, and more are absent. What’s a Gmail user to do? How about use the iOS app.
No, we’re not suggesting you go out and buy an iPhone just to use Gmail. The wonderful and always reliable Windows Phone developers have done all the work for you and ported the iOS Gmail app over to Windows Phone 8. The app acts much like an official app would, but with a little lag here and there since it is a port. You get access to labels, starring, priority inbox, archiving, reporting spam, and everything else you would want to do.
If you’ve been unsatisfied with the feature set in the stock Mail app you might want to give this one a try. There is a free version with just an ad on the about page, but if you want push notifications you’ll need the $0.99 version. Windows Phone 8 and 7 are supported. How many of you still use Gmail?
Thanks Wil!
