Yesterday Facebook and Instagram held an event to announce the ability to share videos on Instagram. After the event there was a Q&A session, and Windows Phone was of course brought up. The simple question “when are we going to see Instagram on Windows Phone?” was asked, and the answer was not great.
“I think Windows Phone is very interesting, but we’ve got nothing to announce right now.”
Where have we heard that before? From practically every company without a Windows Phone app. Does this mean Instagram for Windows Phone isn’t coming? Certainly not. Unless they have been living in a cave they are well aware that Instagram users want the app. I’m sure they have also noticed some unusual activity from some unknown devices uploading images. We are fairly confident Instagram will come some day. The real question is “when?”
In the meantime there are a couple good alternatives that allow you to upload images to Instagram. Check them out here.
