Whether or not the iPhone is actually still the best phone has never been more in question, but in the eyes of consumers it’s still largely considered #1. Nokia is well aware of this fact, and they continue to try to who how their devices are better. The latest attempt at this comes with the Lumia 925 and its six lens camera.
The commercial starts like your typical Apple ad: “everyday, more photos are taken on the iPhone than any other phone.” They even have some Apple-esque music playing in the background. But then the narrator says “but at Nokia we prefer to build for quality, not just quantity.” The rest of the commercial is a series of side-by-side comparison photos between the Lumia 925 and iPhone 5 in various settings.
I like the commercial overall, but the our-camera-is-better-than-your-camera angle is getting a little old. How many people are actually buying a smartphone because of the camera? Plus, in these ads we don’t even get to see Windows Phone, and let’s be honest, the user will be using the OS a lot more than the camera. I don’t think anyone can argue that Lumia cameras aren’t awesome, but is that enough?
