On Monday Microsoft surprised us with the announcement of the GDR3 update for Windows Phone 8, or “Update 3” as they referred to it. However, that was only half of the surprise. They also announced a new way for developers and enthusiasts to download software updates without carrier interference.
We’ve been using the new update for a few days, and so far it has been working great. The changes aren’t earth shattering by any means, but the whole OS just feels a bit more polished.
