ISIS “busily working” on Mobile Wallet app for Windows Phone

ISIS mobile payments

One of the coolest and most underused thing that some smartphones can do is mobile payments with NFC. This technology allows users to add their credit card to their phone and simply tap-to-pay. Unfortunately not every phone has NFC, and even some that do can’t use this. One big reason why is carriers. Enter ISIS.

ISIS is a mobile payment system that has been approved by AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Users can pay with their phone at over 200,000 retail locations. Last week ISIS Mobile Wallet went live on those carriers for a few Android devices. The goal of ISIS is to be the standard for mobile payments on all platforms. So where is the Windows Phone app?

A Twitter user asked ISIS when they would have an app for Windows Phone. They responded positively by saying “we’re busily working on it.” Hopefully this technology gets built-in to devices with NFC. What do you think about mobile payments? Would you pay with your phone if you could?

Heck yeah I’d use it, ran into this article while searching for info about availability. Been waiting since I got my first NFC enabled Win Phone (8x) Still waiting with my 925 (tmo…or I’d be onto the 1520 :( ..) Glad they are working on it, be happier when I can use this instead of the physical card to shop at Target :)

I hope that they get an app for the Windows Phone soon. My Nokia 928 could sure benefit from it. I just ordered my new SIM card for my phone. Just remember that with Verizon, for ISIS to work, you need a new SIM card. Fortunately, that is the one thing that Verizon will give you for free! LOL
