Microsoft has tried just about every technique in the book for its Windows Phone ads. They’ve gone abstract, practical, real-life, and simple. One way they haven’t explored enough is poking fun at the competition. That all changes in their latest Windows Phone ad.
The ad starts at a wedding and everyone takes out their phones to snap a picture of the bride and groom. A big old fashioned brawl breaks out when an iPhone user tells a Galaxy user to put down his “giant phone.” The video ends with a couple people with Lumia phones saying “you think if they knew about the Nokia Lumia they’d stop fighting all the time?” Which is followed by the truest line to ever be said: “I think they kinda like fighting.”
It’s a really funny and smart ad. It pokes fun at Apple and Samsung fans while also showing off how in a room full of white and black phones the Nokia Lumia really stands out. This is one of our favorite ads for Windows Phone. What do you think of the ad? Did Microsoft do a good job?
