One of the nice things about Windows Phone 8 is the built-in Bing song recognition. Just tap the Search button, then the Music icon, and you’re good to go. For most cases that’s all you need, but if you’re looking for something more there is Shazam. Shazam has been around for a long time on Android, iOS, and even Windows Phone 7. Today they are launching their new Windows Phone 8 app.
Shazam for Windows Phone 8 has all the great features you would expect from a Shazam app. Simply load up the app and press the “Tag Now” to identify a song. It has a tile inspired interface that fits right in with Windows Phone. Tagged songs have links to Xbox Music and Nokia Music, and they can be shared or pinned to Start. You can view charts of tops songs, songs tagged near you, and of course keep track of all the songs you have tagged. Shazam is for the hardcore music listener.
