Next Xbox 360 update will finally remove Microsoft Points for real money

We heard a while ago that Microsoft Points would finally be killed in favor of real money. This news came from Microsoft themselves with the announcement of the Xbox One. That’s great news for One owners, but what about those of us that still use the 360? The last beta update removed them for eager testers, and now they could be gone for everyone in the next update.

Microsoft exec Marc Whitten confirmed on Xbox Wire that the change from Points to cash will happen with the next software update. Once that update goes live Microsoft will trade the Points in your account for an equal sum of money. Whitten did not give a time frame for when this update will arrive on the 360. We will be waiting with our Points by a trash can.
