Dell may not have the best luck with tablets in the past, but that isn’t stopping them from trying. Today Dell unleashed two new Windows 8 devices with the resurrected “Venue” name tag. One device is an 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet, but the second device is the real star of the show. The Venue 11 Pro is a straight-up Surface Pro competitor.
The Venue 11Pro will come with a 10.8-inch 1080p display, Intel Bay Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a full USB 3.0 port, and 11 hours of battery life. Dell will also offer a thin Surface-like keyboard attachment that doubles as a tablet stand and includes an extra battery. The specs and accessories are nice, but the price is what will really catch you attention.
But…how much does it cost?
Dell will offer the Venue 11 Pro for just $499 this November, and the keyboard will cost and extra $99. Combine those two prices and you’re paying a little more than a Surface RT, but you get full Windows 8. The Venue 11 Pro can also be upgraded to an Intel Haswell processor and 8GB of memory for an extra cost. We’ll be looking to pick one of these up in November.
