New SnapChat for Windows Phone app ‘Snapback’ now in beta

snapback

The last few times we’ve talked about SnapChat hasn’t been for good reasons. The last decent 3rd-party app, SwapChat, was removed due to a request from SnapChat themselves a few months ago. We later learned that SnapChat may be waiting for GDR3 to release their app, but until then a new app is hoping to save the day.

Snapback is a new SnapChat app made by Hilltop. It is in private beta now for select users. We’ve loaded it up on our phone and it works remarkably well for a beta test app. Snapback can do pretty much everything you would expect from a SnapChat app, including the ability to send 10 second videos. So far we have been able to successfully send and receive snaps.

For a beta release this is a really solid app. Everything works like it should. We’ll let you know when it’s available for everyone to download.

There is a good reason people can’t download it - it’s in private beta and not in the public Store. Just a heads-up :-)

How come I can see it in the Store even when I’m not signed in?

  • violettaco

Seeing it in the Store != being able to download and use it. If you can download it, means you are part of the beta. I will soon open more spots for people to sign up.

Gotcha. I must have requested access at some time and forgot. Thanks!

It should go public soon enough anyway :-) Thanks for highlighting the work!

Hello Joe, are there still more spots available. I recently tried to join the beta. Great work regardless
