Yesterday we wrote about a Snapback, a new SnapChat app that entered private beta. It will be available soon for everyone, but in the meantime you can check out our hands-on to see what to expect. This is a very solid and stable app, much more so than the previous 3rd-party SnapChat apps. It also does a lot more than previous apps. Let’s take a look.
The headlining feature of Snapback is probably the ability to watch and send videos. Just like in the official SnapChat apps you can record 10 second videos and send them just like photo snaps. The functionality works well if you record for the full 10 seconds, but we did experience some bugginess when trying to stop recording before the 10 second limit. For a beta it still works very well.

Everything else is basically what you would expect. You can take a snap with the front or back camera, adjust flash in the settings, add text to the photo, draw on the photo with colored pens, and set the timer for how long the photo lasts. The design and UI of the app is beautifully metro, as every app should be. So far we are loving how the app works. We’ll let you know when it drops for everyone.
