    Lumia 1020 battery life

I'm noticing that the battery life is suddenly all over the map on my 1020. I took it off the corded charger this morning and it said 47% despite having been charging all night. By the time I got to work, it was down to 23% despite only moderate usage. Now it's sitting on my wireless charger in my desk and keeps bouncing back and forth between 40ish% and 100%.

Clicking around to various forums, it appears that something I installed might be to blame. Guess I'll be uninstalling some apps tonight to see if I can pinpoint a culprit.

Edit: I initially thought this was related to wireless charging, so I've started using cords more in the past few days, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

The only app I've heard about draining battery is Skype. Do you have that installed?

I'm not using a Lumia 1020 but I have noticed similar issues on a 920 with some battery monitor apps installed. I removed the app (I think it was just called 'Battery') and everything is much better now.

I do have Skype, but I haven't so much as launched it. I think it came preinstalled. (incidentally, I'm loving that any preinstalled app can by removed. Big improvement over Android there)

I read somewhere some comments about a "stuck process" being to blame and that a restart might help. Sure enough, it's been much better today since I restarted the phone.

Yeah, honestly on all phones a restart will usually solve a lot of problems. Glad it worked for you.

I was used to having to restart my various Android phones when they'd start acting strange - apps crashing or refusing to launch, data signal getting lost, missed calls, etc. It was probably a daily occurrence. But this phone is so stable that it didn't occur to me for several days that it might help with this.

I figure if I have to restart once a week or so to keep the battery running smoothly, I'm still way ahead of where I was with my previous phones.
