Microsoft officially announces Windows Phone 8, will share core with Windows 8

With the eyes of the tech world on the Windows Phone Summit in San Francisco today Microsoft has officially announced Windows Phone 8. We will be updating this page with information as we get it.

Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 will have “Shared Cores.” This means they will share things like kernel, driver support, networking, etc. It also makes it super easy for developers to move apps from Windows 8 to Windows Phone.
