Nokia Phones Headed to Verizon, PureView Lumia Coming “Very Soon”

Ashley is a 26 year old with an enthusiasm for all things technology related. She hails from the Southern United States and when she's not tweaking her Android handset, she can usually be found in front of the computer or Xbox 360 enjoying the latest game releases.

While Nokia is gaining a foothold here in the United States after being absent from the market for so long, so far it has done so only on AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks. Richard Kerris, the vice president of worldwide developer relations for the company spoke with Neowin and said that it “won’t be long” before Nokia has handsets available on Verizon’s network, currently the largest in the nation.

Another interesting tidbit gleaned from the interview is that a Lumia PureView phone is definitely on the way “very soon”, but no details about the release of the phone were given. The fact that such an amazing camera is tied to Symbian was lamented by hardware enthusiasts everywhere. It’s probably safe to bet that if a PureView Lumia phone is on the way, it’ll be after Windows Phone 8 has shipped as Nokia doesn’t want to DOA any more of its hardware.

Are you excited for a new Nokia PureView? If you’re a Verizon customer, will you be considering a Nokia device in the future?
