Microsoft offers some design tips for Windows 8 Metro apps

With Windows 8 Microsoft is gambling a lot on a drastically different user interface. They want the transition to be as smooth as possible, and one way that can happen is for the Windows Store to be full of beautiful, eye catching apps to hook first time users. On the Windows 8 Developer Blog Microsoft has shared some tips to help people make those great Metro apps.

Microsoft wants to developers to think about what makes their app better than the competition. Take the thing the app is best at, and make that the key feature. In other words, like Metro, they want apps to be simplified. Your app may do a lot of things, but for the Metro version try to focus on the best thing it does.
