Bing Maps gets “resolutionary,” adds 215TB of high-res imagery

When you’re living in a digital age low-resolution photos just don’t cut it. Thankfully Microsoft is not letting us live in that nightmare with Bing Maps. About a month ago they added 165TB of data to Maps, and now they are adding a whopping 215TB more of high-resolution goodness.

This update is for Bing’s “Bird’s Eye” feature which lets you view the world at a 45 degree angle, because that’s apparently what birds do. The 1.1 million files of imagery will be delivered across the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Tokyo.
