This has to be the first time a piece of news for a gadget has surfaced through LinkedIn. On a Microsoft employee’s profile (screenshot above), you can see that at the very least, Acer was working with Microsoft to design a phone. It looks to me like the project has ben abandoned.
The only other time we heard of an Acer/Microsoft “mobile” partnership was with the Acer M900, a phone that was going to run Windows Mobile but ended up running Android.
Short-term I wouldn’t get your hopes up for an Acer Windows Phone, but the interest is definitely there.
