Samsung Waiting for Windows Phone 8 Before Launching New Handsets

Samsung had decided to hold off on releasing any new Windows Phone handsets until after Windows Phone 8, or Apollo has been released. The company has stated they’ll be launching a new handset for the next version of Windows Phone in the second half of 2012, which begins in October. This isn’t really a surprising move for Samsung, considering the company is waiting for marketshare increase before making any major moves.

There’s no word on the Samsung “Mandel”, a mysterious handset that popped up as one of AT&Ts three LTE Windows Phones. This could be the code name for their next generation of Windows Phones, but we’ll have to wait and see.

    Smart on their behalf. Why try and get a device out when they are pushing the Lumia phones so heavy with WP7.5… may as well rally the troups and hit Win8 hard.
