Over the weekend I went with a friend to the local AT&T store to pick out her first smartphone. When we first walked into the store the first display was full of Windows Phones. They had the white, black, and cyan Lumia 900′s, a Titan II, and the Focus 2 all on display. My friend was set on a phone with a keyboard, so unfortunately I wasn’t able to convince her to try a Windows Phone.
After my friend settled on a Samsung Android device the store rep made sure she knew what she wanted. I could tell he wasn’t excited about selling yet another boring Android phone, but he also didn’t want to be rude. Later I noticed he was using a black Lumia 900 as his personal device, which I was really glad to see.
I was curious to see how the Windows Phone devices would be displayed, and I was glad to see them getting prime placement. The Windows Phone devices were getting just as much face time as the iPad’s and iPhone’s. I left the store feeling very good about AT&T and their dedication to Windows Phone.
Moral of the story: AT&T isn’t giving up on Windows Phone devices yet.
