A lot of news has been coming from Nokia’s earnings call today, and a majority of the news has been very positive. Earlier we told you that Nokia has sold 4 million Lumia devices in Q2, and USA growth has doubled. The next bit of news has to do with the Windows Phone 8 announcement.

There was speculation that the lack of upgrade to WP8 was would negatively impact sales in the months before release. Stephen Elop directly addressed that concern and said “Lumia activations were flat to up in the weeks following WP* announcement.” He also reiterated what we’ve been hearing from Nokia people, saying current phones will continue to be supported after the launch of WP8.

As we wrap up news from Nokia’s earnings call today the situation seems to be stable for Nokia. Devices shipped raised in both the US and worldwide. They had a cash rise of almost $125 million. Sales are keeping steady after the WP8 announcement. I think they are going to be alright.
