The next cool feature in Windows Phone 8 is something called Data Sense. We’ve heard a little bit about this in the past, but now we get the full rundown. Data Sense is for helping people get the most out of their capped data plans. Data Sense learns how system apps use data and it compresses data in the cloud. This compression allows for less data to be used on your plan. It also uses nearby wifi hotspots to limit the data usage.
Data Sense will even adjust how your phone behaves so if you’re close to the data cap you won’t go over. Data Sense gives you a nice view of how much data your individual apps use, and it comes with a live tile to make seing this even easier. With Data Sense you will be able to do 45% more web browsing than you could on the same data plan. Verizon is the first carrier to support Data Sense.
