We first saw the Nokia Lumia 520 back at MWC, and we were impressed by the little device. We were even more excited when we heard it would be coming to T-Mobile. Today T-Mobile has made the Lumia 521 officially more official with just a tiny bit more information. Beginning in May the Lumia 521 will be available at Walmart, Microsoft Stores, and T-Mobile stores. Exact release date and pricing details were not given. We can expect the phone to cost around $240 without contract.
The Lumia 520 has a 4-inch IPS LCD super sensitive display with 480×800 resolution, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, microSD card slot, 5MP camera with 720p recording, and a 1430mAh battery. It’s not going to knock anyone’s socks off, but it is a very capable low-end device. On T-Mobile’s new contract-free “plans” it will be a nice budget option. If it costs around $240 when it launches that’s a very affordable price for an off contract phone. We will have more information on the 521 as we get it.
