Official Untappd for Windows Phone app now available

Untappd

Social drinkers rejoice! The official Untappd app for Windows Phone is now available in the Store. Untappd is a social network based around sharing what adult beverage you are currently drinking.

The Untappd app basically looks identical to the one you see in Google Play. They didn’t even flatten the icons and UI like Facebook did with their Android-y design. Despite being a port it still operates just fine and lets you do everything you need. That includes seeing your Friends feed, finding breweries nearby, earning badges, and of course checking-in with drinks. While using the app I did have one crash, but that was it.

Untappd is available now for free on Windows Phone 8 devices. Yes, this is yet another app that’s Windows Phone 8 only. A lot of people have been complaining about this lately with all the new app releases. WP8 has been out for six months, it doesn’t make much sense for developers to worry about WP7. Crazy. It looks just like an Android app and the Android app looks just like an iOS app. LOL

I don’t think it looks like an iOS app. The tabs are on the bottom for the iOS app. It looks like and Android app pre-Holo.

True. I just feel like the whole theme looks “iOSy”. Bubbly and stuff. But you are right, most Android apps looked like that before Holo.

Oh Gawd, my eyes burn whenever I see a straight port.
