What companies are making Windows Tablets?

Nokia is definitely rumored but what other companies are in the running for making a Windows Tablet when Windows 8 comes out? Samsung? HTC? Sony? I'm betting that the less well known manufacturers like ZTE enter that space first and the bigger guys will play wait and see. I hope not though... I'd love a Win8Tab

Lenovo seems pretty gungho about being the first manufacturer with a Windows 8 tablet available on the market. I'm interested to see where these tablets go in the future, but I'm not sure if I'll be an early adopter. Windows 7 is absolutely shit on a tablet and early development preview builds of Windows 8 that I've used just haven't impressed me.

Dell has said the will release on Enterprise tablet and I only assume they will a consumer model. Rumors of Samsung and Asus in the channels I work at.

I would bet all the major PC manufactures will make one. Just look at all the companies that have made Android tablets, and HC/ICS hasn't even been that successful.

Samsung, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba and ASUS have all expressed interest. For the first batch of releases though, Microsoft is having manufacturers "partner up" with different chip vendors, then afterwards they can partner with whomever they please

Samsung, one of the "big guys" actually made the Build tablet that featured the Windows 8 DP, so one can assume they're on board from the beginning

I have an rooted HP Touchpad with ICS, and it's better than WebOS, app wise, but it still is missing Twitter client I actually like. I've been using Tweetcomb but it isn't too great. Do you have any twitter client recommendations?

I have one as well running the CM9 alpha 2. I'd recommend TweetCaster if you haven't tried it.

I've tried it, but even with Adblock, ads still appear. It's distracting, and it makes me miss SpazHD, the WebOS twitter client

I still boot to my WebOS partition somewhat frequently. Even with the DolphinHD browser, I feel like the web experience in WebOS is just more fluid. I'm pretty impressed with the flash integration.

I think the Android Flash implementation is stronger than WebOS's, as well as the app situation and feed reading, is way better on ICS. WebOS still has the better Twitter client, though. Go Spaz!

Does anybody know what general price range these companies will be charging for their Win8 tablets? My plan is to buy my first tablet this summer, but if there are Windows offerings at a similar price point, I might hold out a bit.

Intel Windows tablets will be way more expensive than the iPad ($599-$899), ARM tablets the usual pricing of $500 and below

Nokia is definitely making a tablet, which will be good if they keep with the Corning Gorilla Glass, which i think they will. Microsoft's and Nokia's relationship is a good one and will make both companies huge competitors in the smartphone market.

I think you mean tablet, but yeah, they'll be a force to be reckoned with. Microsoft needs to be sure not to alienate their other hardware vendors though

Sorry yeah i did mean tablet, yeah im glad you agree that nokia is a good force in the industry. I completely agree with you on the side of alientate with other hardware vendors, it's something they have had in the past that has completely failed a product for them, the partnership they both have it great and i hope Nokia is smart enough (which signs show they are so far) to make a very competitive product for Windows Tablets.

Most likely just before christmas, apparently (only from rumors) Windows 8 is official Released to Manufactures in October, but who knows for sure, but odds are, considering their other operating system releases that they will release around that time.

Sometime this fall, October or later. Many may come out during the Christmas season as well
