Screenshots will be native in Windows Phone 8

Joe Fedewa is 23 years old and lives near Lansing, Michigan. He's been interested in technology ever since he got his first flip phone. Since then he's evolved from flip phones to smartphones, and become even more interested in everything from cord cutting to web browsers. Joe is also an avid sports fan and sci-fi movie geek. He's a Joe of all trades.

The first step to becoming a legitimate OS is getting copy/paste functionality. We got that in NoDo. The next step to become legit is native screenshot capability. iOS has had this since launch, and Android just recently got it in 4.0, so now it’s Windows Phone’s turn.

In WP8 it will work very simply. Just press the camera key and Start button simultaneously and you’ll see the screen flash with your accent color. The screenshot will then appear in the Pictures app. This will make it easy for devs, users, and *ahem* tech bloggers to share screenshots. It’s about time.
