We already know October is going to be a monumental month for Microsoft, and they just made it even bigger. Windows 8 will be available to the public on October 26th, but it appears that’s not the only thing that Microsoft will release to the public on that day.

In an SEC filing the eagle eyes at CNET spotted confirmation from Microsoft about Windows 8 and Surface RT launching together. ”The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012. At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices.”

We’re still waiting to hear official word on pricing and release date of the Windows 8 Pro version of Surface. Windows 8, Surface RT, Windows Phone 8 (?), and Halloween?! October is going to be a busy month.
