Consumers may want an official YouTube app for Windows Phone, but developers are cashing in on its absence. MetroTube, one of the more popular 3rd party YouTube apps, has announced they have crossed the 100,000 download threshold. This alone is proof that an official YouTube app would not be a total waste of time for Google. Along with this announcement MetroTube also shared that version 3.3 has passed certification.

3.3 adds a few nice features to an already great app. “Watch Later” has been added, which makes it easy to go from web to phone easily. Other additions include bug fixes and optimizations. The update should arrive in the next week. MetroTube is free in the Marketplace.
