Nokia refusing carrier branding on its Lumia phone line

One of the practices I’ve never enjoyed for phone carriers is branding their name across handsets in an advertisement to anyone who sees your phone. My Lumia 900 sports its AT&T logo, but I can’t say that I’m happy about that, even if it is a minor aesthetic difference. Nokia appears to be cracking down on this practice, as according to Windows Phone Italy, Nokia has decided not to allow network carriers to brand their logo onto the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 devices.

While this practice may only extend across European countries, it’s nice to see Nokia taking a stand. I’d love to be able to get my phone and not have AT&T branded on it for once. Does carrier branding make that much of a difference to you?
