Last week we showed you our sleek Surface unboxing so you could get a first-hand look at the tablet, but iFixit has gone even further and ripped into the internals in order to show you just how well the Surface is put together. Of course, the specs for the Surface RT were already known, but in the teardown we get a look at the nVidia Tegra 3 processor, as well as the battery and the WiFi antennas. The display, battery, and flash storage are all provided by Samsung.
What’s interesting to note is that according to iFixit’s assessment, the Surface RT is more repairable than the iPad, given that more parts of the tablet are modular. Sure, the screen and the display are fused together, but the rest of the tablet is held together by screws that are easily accessible. If you’re interested in seeing more of the Surface’s internals, check out iFixit’s website here.
